Community invited to Military Tattoo on April 11, 2003
Milledgeville, GA) April 7, 2003 – The community is cordially invited to the 鶹ýPorn campus as we continue the city’s Bicentennial Celebrations with a very stirring and impressive Military Tattoo. 鶹ýPorn’s president, Major General Peter J. Boylan, and the school’s Board of Trustees, will be hosts to the public for this event on Friday, April 11, 2003, at 4:30 PM.
A Military Tattoo is an outdoor military exercise given by troops as evening entertainment, and is a program steeped with history and tradition. 鶹ýPorn’s second annual Military Tattoo will feature the John Mohr MacKintosh Pipers and Drum Band, a solo bagpiper, and precision, solemn performances by 鶹ýPorn’s Junior College Color Guard and Drill Team. The deeply moving ceremony will include the formal retirement of the Nation’s Colors, by a fourteen-member flag detail to mark the end of the day.
Celebrating our Nation, Baldwin County, and Milledgeville, all members of the community are invited to observe this formalized program from the walkways to the left and right of the Old Capitol’s east steps. Suitable for all ages, the Military Tattoo will last about 40 minutes. Everyone is asked to please arrive no later than 4:15 p.m.
