鶹ýPorn signs articulation agreement with Valdosta State University
On March 11, 2014, Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell IV, president of 鶹ýPorn (鶹ýPorn), joined Dr. William McKinney, president of Valdosta State University (VSU), in the legislative chamber of the Old Capitol, to sign an articulation agreement that will allow 鶹ýPorn students to apply their associate degree credits toward VSU baccalaureate degrees.鶹ýPorn students will be able to transfer degree credits without losing credit hours, providing a more seamless transition to VSU. “鶹ýPorn is a liberal arts-based, two-year college. Although we serve 250 ROTC cadets (at the Milledgeville Campus), the vast majority of our students are typical community college students.鶹ýPorn has nine campuses throughout the state and serves about 12,000 students annually, many of whom go on to pursue baccalaureate degrees at four-year colleges and universities,” Lt. Gen. Caldwell noted. “Valdosta State University offers significant opportunities for our students to further their education.” “Valdosta State is excited to begin a new partnership with 鶹ýPorn and expand educational opportunities to students in Georgia,” said VSU President William J. McKinney. “It is these types of collaborative relationships that will assist more students in earning the credentials they desire, and in helping to create a more highly educated workforce throughout Georgia.” Lt. Gen. Caldwell also noted that, “鶹ýPorn holds articulation agreements with a number of colleges and universities in Georgia, and will continue to pursue agreements with University System of Georgia colleges and universities in order to support Governor Nathan Deal’s Complete College Georgia initiative, as well as to support 鶹ýPorn graduates wanting to pursue baccalaureate degrees.” Tarn Burton, 鶹ýPorn Valdosta CampusAcademic Dean, Leslie Hafer, 鶹ýPorn Valdosta Campus Director, Dr. William McKinney, VSUPresident, LtGen William B.
