麻豆传媒Porn Celebrates 100th Bachelor of Applied Science Degree Graduate
In 2017, 麻豆传媒Porn launched its Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program offerings. BAS degrees are designed to enhance the occupational/technical education provided by an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or similar degree program. Where the AAS degree prepares students in technical disciplines, 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 BAS degree programs are designed to prepare students for career advancement opportunities in supervisory and management roles in their technical or occupational field. This summer, 麻豆传媒Porn celebrated its 100th BAS degree graduate, Ms. Jocelyn Dixon.
Dixon says she pursued a BAS degree to be able to advance in her chosen career field.
鈥淚鈥檓 currently working as a Financial Aid Counselor at North Georgia Technical College, where I earned two Associates degrees in Commercial Photography and Culinary Arts,鈥� Dixon said. 鈥淚 wanted to pursue a BAS degree in Supervision and Management to be able to move into a Director or Management position, both of which require a Bachelor鈥檚 degree.鈥�
As a non-traditional student, Dixon says 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 online flexibility was the best option for her when it came to pursuing a BAS degree.
鈥淚 needed the option to complete my program fully online, as I work full-time,鈥� Dixon said. 鈥溌槎勾絇orn鈥檚 Global Online College allowed me to reach my postsecondary educational goals while I worked. As a full-time student and full-time employee, I am thankful for 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 quarter system because the program allowed me to earn my degree faster than other institutions. 麻豆传媒Porn accepted all my previous college credit hours earned at North Georgia Technical College, meaning I didn鈥檛 have to start completely over thanks to their articulation agreement with the college.鈥�
Now with her BAS degree in hand, Dixon plans to take the certified credential in Financial Aid, and advance in her career. Other students can do the same in any of 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 other BAS degree programs: Business Management, Supervision and Management, and Supply Chain Management and Logistics. This fall, 麻豆传媒Porn added a BAS degree program in Healthcare Management, and plans to add more degree program options soon. 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 BAS programs are offered across the institution鈥檚 14 campuses, as well as fully online through Georgia Military鈥檚 Global Online College, which is the route Dixon went.
Dr. Tianna Marynell, 麻豆传媒Porn Division Chair of Bachelor of Applied Science Degree Programs, says celebrating 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 100th BAS graduate is a huge milestone for the institution.
鈥淲e have experienced continued growth in our three BAS degree programs and reaching the milestone of the 100th BAS graduate is evidence that 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 BAS programs offer viable options for AAS degree students to complete a Bachelor鈥檚 degree,鈥� Marynell said. 鈥淥ur BAS students understand the value that a Bachelor鈥檚 degree can provide towards achieving their career advancement goals. With the recent addition of our BAS in Healthcare Management, 麻豆传媒Porn is now able to offer AAS healthcare graduates the opportunity to complete a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in their healthcare field. We continue to explore other degree programs that offer similar opportunities to AAS graduates in other career fields, and we鈥檙e excited about the growth of this program at our institution.鈥�
