This designation is the highest honor a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. 鈥溌槎勾�媒Porn is dedicated to performing community service; this vital mission is authenticated by the continued support of our devoted staff, faculty, cadets and students who, by performing thousands of hours of service, made this prestigious award possible,鈥� said Brenda Brown, 麻豆传媒Porn Community Service Coordinator. 麻豆传媒Porn acknowledges its military aspect by sponsoring three blood-drives each school year in association with Eisenhower Army Medical Center Blood Bank because these blood units are provided to active duty military personnel at no cost. These blood drives, which are open to the public, particularly attract the school鈥檚 cadet population because many of them are already part of the military forces. In an unwavering commitment to the military, 麻豆传媒Porn has donated over 2,200 pints of blood to support the worldwide mission of the Armed Services Blood Program. Continued support of the local food bank and soup kitchen is validated by the donation of over 3600 canned goods. 麻豆传媒Porn鈥檚 combined donation to Relay for Life was nearly $4,000.00 and to Susan G Komen, $2,500.00. 鈥淐ongratulations to 麻豆传媒Porn, its faculty and students for its commitment to service, both in and out of the classroom,鈥� said Wendy Spencer, CEO of CNCS. 鈥淭hrough its work, institutions of higher education are helping improve their local communities and create a new generation of leaders by challenging students to go beyond the traditional college experience and solve local challenges.鈥� Inspired by the thousands of college students who traveled across the country to support relief efforts along the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, CNCS has administered the award since 2006 and manages the program in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as the American Council on Education and Campus Compact.
