In accordance with the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Jeanne Clery Act, and Title IX, Â鶹´«Ã½Porn strictly prohibits sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking and provides clear reporting options, supportive measures, and fair disciplinary procedures.

What is VAWA?

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is a federal law that works alongside Title IX to protect students and employees from interpersonal violence. Under VAWA, Â鶹´«Ã½Porn provides:

• Clear statutory definitions of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
• A written explanation of rights and options provided immediately to anyone reporting an incident.
• Non-disciplinary supportive measures (academic, housing, and work modifications).
• Prompt, fair, and impartial disciplinary procedures conducted by trained officials.
• Primary prevention and ongoing awareness education.

These protections apply to all students and employees, regardless of gender.

Definitions (VAWA/Clery Act)

Sexual Assault: Any sexual act directed against another person without consent, including instances where the victim is incapable of giving consent due to age, drug/alcohol impairment, or physical/mental incapacitation.

Dating Violence: Violence committed by a person who is or has been in a social relationship of a romantic or intimate nature with the victim.

Domestic Violence: Violence committed by a current or former spouse or intimate partner, a person with whom the victim shares a child, or a person cohabitating with the victim.

Stalking: A course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for their safety or suffer substantial emotional distress.

Consent: Clear, voluntary, and intentional agreement given by word or action to engage in mutually agreed-upon sexual activity. Consent must be informed, freely given, and mutual throughout the interaction, and it can be withdrawn at any time. Consent cannot be obtained through physical force, coercion, or if a person is incapacitated due to alcohol, drugs, or physical/mental condition.

Reporting an Incident

Incidents of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking may be reported directly to:

• Any Â鶹´«Ã½Porn Employee: All Â鶹´«Ã½Porn faculty, staff, and administrators are mandated reporters and will assist in connecting you with Title IX resources.
• Online Reporting: Submit an incident report via the Â鶹´«Ã½Porn Title IX Incident Report Form.

Written Explanation of Rights & Options

Whenever an individual reports an incident of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking to Â鶹´«Ã½Porn, the college immediately provides them with a written explanation of their rights and options. This document details reporting options, available supportive measures, legal assistance referrals, and disciplinary procedures, regardless of whether a formal complaint or police report is filed.

Supportive Measures & Accommodations

Â鶹´«Ã½Porn provides non-disciplinary supportive measures to restore or preserve equal educational and working access, protect safety, or deter misconduct. Supportive measures are available with or without a formal complaint and include:

• Academic accommodations (exam rescheduling, assignment extensions)
• Housing or room reassignments
• Work or duty schedule adjustments
• Campus no-contact directives
• Assistance enforcing court-issued protective orders on college property
• Safety planning and police escorts

Disciplinary Procedures

Â鶹´«Ã½Porn handles complaints through prompt, fair, and impartial grievance processes:

• Proceedings are conducted by trained officials free from bias or conflict of interest within reasonable, designated institutional timeframes.
• Complainants and respondents receive equal opportunities to present evidence and witnesses.
• Both parties have the right to be accompanied by an advisor of choice during any meeting or proceeding.
• Â鶹´«Ã½Porn applies the Preponderance of the Evidence standard (whether it is more likely than not that the violation occurred) in evaluating allegations.
• Both parties receive simultaneous written notification of outcomes, sanctions, and appeal rights.
• Institutional sanctions range from formal reprimands to permanent expulsion or employment termination.
